More typsetting for Gemini Rising because I can. I’m actually trying super hard to use this as a learning experience for typsetting in general and working with text someone else created. I want to preserve intent and reflect intent with the graphical elements as well as the layout - which is hard. The first few thousand words are broken into small sections. I’ve done my best to keep each section to a spread or a page.

This should probably be called Gemini Rising: Adventures in Using a Grid and then Ignoring It. Initially, I had a four column set up on each spread. Then I made it eight columns. Then I put gutters on each column. Now I’m using the gutters to place my columns so I can deviate from the grid in fun ways.

Oh, and the black border only exists to pull the images out from the white background of the dashboard. No other reason.

More Gemini Rising stuff. Fun fact, it took me about four hours to do this and there’s only three lines of story in the three pages. I thought each line would do well as a standalone page with some fun formatting - the next few bits will probably just be chunks of boring old text. Well, not too boring since the story is damn awesome. The last one is definitely the weakest and may go through some revision.

There’s little bits of information about the constellation here - namely the α castor bit. Admittedly, it’s pulled from wikipedia and rephrased. The numbers are all measurements and facts about the star.

So some of you know that I really dig typography. Generally, when I want to express how much I love something, I make the attempt at typsetting it (as I did with bits of the Thor RP from this past summer, which can be found here).

This is from a kink meme fill of all things. The prompt asked for Sheploo and FemShep as siblings, and the anonthor for this fill decided to make them twins. I absolutely love it. The narration is sparse but concise. I find Jane and John to be very well written and enjoyable characters, and the multiple plot lines the author has built all look to be equally interesting and exciting.
