ELISSA COUSLAND // dual wielding warrior

Conscripted into the Wardens at the age of 18, which did her more good than she will ever admit. An extraordinarily outgoing and friendly young woman, she recruited every possible companion and convinced them all to at least like her. She took to being a Warden quickly, in spite of her deep-seated resentment toward Duncan and professed hatred for what he forced her to become. Elissa is driven by duty and the desire to help people. Her pragmatic and often Machiavellian nature is tempered by her genuine affection for people from all walks of life.

Elissa married Alistair after defeating the Archdemon and ending the Blight, spent a year in Amaranthine fighting the Architect, and now spends the vast majority of her time being a politician in Denerim. She is surprisingly adept at this role, being able to shut off her emotions and attachment to people when necessary, and her efficient politics are gentled by Alistair’s compassionate ones. They are both very casual rulers, however, and spend a great deal of time “sneaking” about the city (this fools no one). Though she will never have children of her own, Elissa has more or less adopted Ladaya.

CARROW AMELL // primal + spirit mage
18 — 5’10” — blond — green

Carrow isn’t a Warden - he is just another mage at the Circle in Ferelden, from the same universe as Amethyne. A terrible human being and utterly irredeemable, he is jealous, bitter, vindictive, cruel, vengeful, racist, xenophobic, and a myriad of other things. He was taken from his home after very deliberately killing his schizophrenic mother and alcoholic father, and then lighting their house on fire. He is not a good person and doesn’t try to be. The only person Carrow cares about is Carrow.

During Uldred’s rebellion, Carrow managed to slip the Tower’s leash, destroying his phylactery and disappearing in the ensuing chaos. Though he was a blood mage, he wanted nothing to do with Uldred and his insanity. Since then, he’s been following Amethyne around, generally being an unapologetic bastard and a thorn in her side.

GARRETT HAWKE // dual-wielding rogue
20 — 6’1” — black — black

A kind and gentle man of few words, Garrett isn’t exactly hero material. The oldest Hawke, he shoulders all the responsibilities in his family without complaint. He is the kind of man who pushes on silently, rarely letting people know how he feels. Garrett prefers peaceable solutions to fighting and would rather talk himself and his friends out of a confrontation than engage other people. Though he is forced into a leadership position, he often feels adrift and out of his element - Garrett can lead, but he needs another person to give him direction.

Garrett doesn’t despise the templars, but he hates what mages are forced to endure. He sees Anders as a brilliant revolutionary, and a shining beacon of hope for mages like his sister, and is both lover and guardian to him.

NICODEMO DELGADO // two-handed warrior - jeweler
22 — 6’0” — black — black

The son of a Rivaini jeweler, Nico grew up in Dairsmuid. He left Rivain as a journeyman craftsman, making his way through Nevarra and Orlais to learn his trade before eventually settling in Denerim around the age of 21. Nico is a man of few words, finding his expression in his craft, cutting jewels in his father’s workshop before he could talk. Once he is comfortable with someone, however, he is quick of wit and laughs easily.

He has a penchant for pretty and fine things, and collects scraps of fabric or broken decorations he finds particularly appealing. Most of his art is inspired by a fragment of a larger design, and he is well-regarded in Denerim in spite of his young age. Elissa is a frequent patron of his shop, and she is the one who introduces Nico to Ladaya.
