Oh come on were you not paying attention? They have the hottest rivalmance of all time.
That’s a smile? I always thought he looked confused, which was kind of funny.
I always thought he looked terrified, like he suspected Morrigan would shape shift into a giant spider at any moment to bite his special weapon off. LOL Then again, I never paid attention to that scene. (Went to my happy place…)
As I’ve said before…I’m pretty sure they simply re-used the same animation that the M!Warden gets.
Therefore…smile. Even though it doesn’t fit. AT ALL.
That’s a smile? Not even. That is the face of a person who has relented and agreed to a sex act that they really do not wish to consent to.
The whole DR situation is creepy as fuck, and wrong on so many levels.
lol! I see… a smile. XD I wonder if there’s some psychological explanation for all of this. You know, like a Rorschach test.

Generally speaking, the faces in Dragon Age don’t emote at all - not when compared to other games, though if you’re used to the very subtle changes you can usually pick up on things.
There was a study done ages ago (and now I can’t remember what it was called) where an audience was shown a sad scene and then an actor or actress’s face. They applauded the actor/actress for emoting such sadness and desolation. Then they were shown a happy scene, another face, and it elicited the same response. At the end, they were shown the faces of the actor/actress side by side, and they were all the same blank-faced expression.
All that to say: based on your understanding of the scene playing in Dragon Age, you will actually read emotion into their expressions, in part because their expressions are so hard to read. So how you see Alistair reacting here actually says more about what you think of the scene than it says about Alistair. :3
