also i just clawed my way through 7 or 8.5 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books

i feel like i’m now a true adult

i also feel like i deserve a goddamn olympic gold

so i was just about to whine to a friend about a female character who is like “NO I WILL NOT STAY BEHIND IN UR GILDED CAGE” even though her love interest is trying to keep her (very human butt) safe from all the things that now want to kill her (vampires, vampire hunters, warlocks, werewolves, an insane crazy vampire who possibly is in love with her but wants to kill her to keep her from her LI)

but then the LI was like “okay i respect that” and takes her to the morgue he got called to so he could investigate a person, dead by vampire

and i was greatly pleased

Editors cost A LOT of money. Like a thousand dollars for a full-length novel. It’s out of the reach of many self-pubbing authors.

Oh, don’t I know it.

I get eblasts from Writer’s Digest with editorial offers, and to edit any of my manuscripts would be well out of my price range.

That’s why I wish they could get better editors - by which I mean editors who are affordable and halfway decent.
